Mangoes, mangoes and mangoes everywhere

Like every year, our box full of organic farm fresh mangoes have reached us, though with difficulty as the lockdown period is goin on.

We are going gaga eating these golden beauties. Because of my undying love of mangos, I’m always on the lookout for a reason to use them. My few experiments with mango are –

Mango semolina/ sooji cake, No bake mango cheesecake, Mango dome cake, and Mango Chinagrass Pudding to name a few.

Mango Mojito Recipe | Virgin mango Mojito, a refreshing summer cooler using mango

As mentioned earlier I love making variety of coolers during summer season, the mojito is the first thing that popped into my mind.

Recently I was planning to make a drink where I didn’t have to buy any extra ingredients specifically for making this mojito. As you all know, going out is not advisable in these tough times of COVID-19.

Moreover, the other important ingredient to make mojito is Mint, that I have homegrown, in my kitchen garden.

So if you too are craving a refreshing drink this summer, I would suggest giving this a try.

Mango Mojito Recipe Ingredients list

Mango Mojito requires no cooking so this can be done in a while. Before assembling the drink in glasses we need to prepare few basic Ingredients required to make this quick and easy recipe.

The first and foremost is Mango pulp/juice, 2nd is Lime & mint blend, and 3rd is Sugar/ sugar syrup / sweetener.

Let’s talk about this in detail one by one.

Mango Juice:

Always use good quality, naturally ripened, and less fibrous mangoes, like Alphonso variety. Make its puree by adding little water, and blending in mixer/hand blender.

Lemon and mint :

The blend of lemon and mint is essential to make any mojito. Muddle these both in a muddler, or with the help of wooden spoon, this step will help to release the beautiful flavour of mint.

Sweetener:

One can add any sweetener of their choice, like brown sugar, honey, stevia or simple sugar syrup.

Club Soda

Use good quality club Soda and pour this after you have put everything in the glass.

And last but not the least don’t forget to add crushed ice, which will make the mojito colder quicker.

This recipe can be made ahead of time. Trust me, you’ll want to make this over and over again this summer.

Step by step instructions and pictorial presentation to make mango Mojito Recipe| Virgin mango Mojito

First make mango puree. For that clean, wash, peel and chop mangoes. Put it in mixer along with little water to make puree. Keep it aside.

In a muddler, put lemon juice and mint. Muddle it 2 to 3 times to release the flavour. But don’t over muddle it as mint may turn bitter and it will spoil the taste of mojito.

Divide lemon mint juice equally in the serving glasses. Fill each glass with 3 to 4 spoons of mango puree. Add the sweetener according to taste. Stir to combine nicely

Here I have added brown sugar. Give a gentle mix and add crushed ice.

Finally before serving, pour club Soda over it and stir and test the taste. Adjust sweetness and serve chilled.

You may coat the rim of the glass with honey, chilli powder and chat masala for that extra kick while sipping this cool mojito.

Garnish with lemon wedge and mint leaves.

Enjoy……
