Cream cheese Penguins Appetizer
Preparation time : 10 minutes
Assembling time: 15 minutes
Ingredients:
8 black olives, pitted(hollowed) to form lower body
package cream cheese, softened as required
8 black olives pitted to form upper body
1 carrot cut into thick roundels
Method :
For making lower body, give a slit to 8 black pitted olives. Slit it from top to bottom length wise.
Insert about 1 tsp of cream cheese into each olive, apply cream cheese on both halves.
Clean excess of cream cheese with kitchen towel/ tissue paper.
Slice the carrot into thick rounds. To form feet for Penguins cut a small piece(notch) from each of carrot roundels.
Save the cut out piece(notch) to make beak for Penguins. Press this into center of olive to form the beak for upper body(neck).
Take a carrot slice, set an olive by placing large hole on downside. With toothpick set another olive horizontal on to vertical olive.
Adjust these so that the beak, cream cheese chest and notch in the carrot slice line up vertically.
Secure this with a toothpick.
Chill it in refrigerator. Enjoy this attractive Cream cheese Penguins appetizer with choice of your drinks. Or serve as a salad to your guests.
Happy cooking
