The summer heat is at it’s peak in this part of the world. At this time all hands are reaching out for something chilled. Ice creams & cold juices/drinks are flying off the shelves quickly.

Magical recipe

So let’s create some magic, and prepare this awesome recipe, which is chilled and yummy too. Actually no magic is required to make these delectable edible chocolate glasses. 😁

They are pretty simple to make and look fancy. Fill these up with your favourite flavor of ice-cream, creamy custard, pudding or mousse.

Fill the edible chocolate glasses with seasonal fresh fruits or the King of fruits – Mango and you are good to go. A treat that everyone is sure to love!

Method to make Chocolate edible glasses|Chocolate glasses

First of all we will require tempered chocolate to shape the glasses. For this, chocolate can be tempered in 2 ways. Here I have used Morde brand dark chocolate.

Microwave method to temper the chocolate

Put chopped chocolate pieces in a microwave proof bowl and micro high first for 30 seconds.

Remove it then mix it with whisker, put it back in for another 30 seconds. Remove the bowl and stir and place it again in microwave.

Repeat this process till all the chocolate is melted smooth without any lumps.

Double boiler method to temper the chocolate:

Fill  water in a wide pan. Heat it on high flame. Place a small steel/glass bowl over it. Keep chopped chocolate/chips inside the top bowl.

Make sure the water does not reach the upper bowl. Keep stirring the chocolate till it melts completely. Keep it aside.

To make chocolate glasses :

Give a small cut on top of plastic/paper glass as shown in the picture. Thereafter give another slit exactly on the opposite side of the glass.

Keep all slitted glasses ready.

Take the previously melted chocolate. Pour chocolate in one glass, swirl it well by ensuring that the whole cup is covered with chocolate well.

Once a glass is covered fully with chocolate, after that pour the excess chocolate into the next glass.

Repeat this process until all the plastic glasses are done.

Setting of Glasses

Keep all the chocolate covered glasses into the fridge for 3 hours minimum to chill and set properly. I kept it for 24 hrs ensuring it sets well.

Take all the glasses out once it’s set nicely. Now tear out the plastic from the slit from where originally it was cut. This has to be done with a little bit of patience.

However if done quickly or in haste, the chocolate glasses may break. Put these back in the fridge to chill further.

Serving suggestions

Now make fillings for chocolate glasses of your choice.
Use Vanilla custard with seasonal fruits or fill it with mousse or your favorite icecream.

I have served these with homemade vanilla custard and some fresh fruits.

Devour chocolate glasses with yummilicious filling and enjoy.

Note

You may use paper glasses but make sure that the size of glass shouldn’t be big. If it is, then snip the glass from top and use it.

Super cute chocolate glasses, Lata. I once tried out with small glasses but the recipe didn’t reach the blog as they turned out a bit messy. I didn’t make slits in the glass. Love how these glasses are so versatile as one can serve so many different desserts in them.

    1. Lata Lala

Making slits on side of glasses is an important part of making these chocolate glasses Mayuri.
True these are versatile. Thank you for writing in.

  9. Anam

Hi Lata, i have a question. Can these only be made with Dark chocolate and not with milk chocolate. The reason i ask is my son is not a dark chocolate fan, but i wonder if the milk chocolate would stick evenly across the glass and come out so beautiful. Any thoughts?

    1. Lata Lala

Hi Anam. Aa I haven’t tried with milk chocolate ever, I have no idea. But you can try first with small cup and see the results.
According to me it should work fine as chocolate is chocolate, it will work the same way.
