My Tex-Mex sizzler recipe consists various components. The platter has vegetables like Broccoli, Zucchini,Baby Corn, Mushrooms, Bell Peppers. These are cooked in Tex-Mex Sauce & served with Parsley Rice, sauted veggies & homemade French Fries.

It’s beautiful morning here in this part of the World and this calls for something hot, spicy and tasty. So sizzlers are on my mind right now.
Sizzlers at my place are warmly welcomed as a pleasant change from regular run of the mill meals. I have made many variations of sizzlers ranging from Chinese, Thai, Indian to italian cuisine.
Family is happy happy on hearing the sizzling sound of the Sizzler 😀
Tex-Mex Sizzler Recipe
Tex-Mex Sizzler Recipe (from Texan and Mexican cuisine) is a fusion food of Texas and Mexican. The reason to choose this was, as I have never experimented with this before.
My other main course dishes are listed below.
Paneer ke Ande/Vegetarian egg curry
So let’s begin making delicious Tex-Mex Sizzler Recipe.
PARSLEY RICE INGREDIENTS
Green chilli ,finely chopped -1
Onion, chopped – 1/2
Uncooked Basmati rice – 1 cup
Chopped fresh parsley/coriander leaves – 1/2 cup
Salted butter – 2 tbsp
Fresh parsley, minced – 2 tbsp
Water – 1 +1/2 cups
Oil & butter – 1 tsp each
Salt to taste
Wash the rice. Soak it for 5 minutes. Boil the rice in water for about 15 minutes on a low flame. Once cooked upto 90 percent drain the water and keep it in the colander.
Melt the oil & butter in a pan. Add the chopped onion and green chilli.
Mix in the chopped parsley (1 cup).
To this add cooked rice.
Adjust salt to taste. Gently toss together. Remove from heat. Next
add 2 tablespoon fresh parsley. Gently toss everything well.
TEX-MEX SAUCE
Ingredients :
500 gms tomatoes
3/4 cup chopped onions
1 green chilli , chopped
Red, green & yellow bell peppers chopped in chunks half piece of each.
1/2 tsp chilli powder
1/4 tsp dried oregano
2 pinches of sugar
Oil 2 tbsp
salt to taste
Dip the tomatoes in hot water for 10 minutes. Peel off the skin and chop it.
Heat oil and sauté onions for few minutes. Mix in chopped green chilli and sauté again for a few seconds.
Throw in chopped chunks of all peppers and saute it.
In addition to that put tomatoes, chilli powder, oregano, sugar and salt.
Simmer for 10 to 12 minutes till it is thick. Keep aside.
TEX-MEX HAKKA NOODLES
INGREDIENTS
Half pack of hakka noodles
Salt to taste
Oil 1 tsp
Tex mex sauce 2 to 3 tsp or more
Boil the water first. Add hakka noodles with a tsp of oil. Cook it till al-dante. Drain and keep aside.
In a pan add cooled noodles. Stir in tex-mex sauce. Mix well.
STIR FRY VEGETABLES
Onion 1 diced
Zucchini 1/4 cup
Cherry tomatoes 6
Mushrooms 10 pcs
French beans 5 to 6 pcs
1/4 cup broccoli
Yellow green & red capsicum cut into dices 1/4 cup
Baby corn thinly sliced 1/4 cup
Cherry tomatoes few
Carrot sliced length wise 1
salt to taste
Garlic 2 cloves
Oregano 1 tsp
Chilli flakes 1 tsp
Butter 1 tsp
In a pan put butter. Once it’s melted add chopped garlic cloves. To this add all the vegetables one by one, and keep on sautéing. Finish with salt, oregano and chilli flakes.
FRENCH FRIES :
potatoes 4
Salt
Corn flour
Pizza seasoning
Chilli flakes
Oil to deep fry
Cut the potatoes into fries shape. Boil them for 5 minutes with salt. Drain the water. Coat it with cornflour and add the seasoning and chilli flakes. Stash in zip loc bag in freezer for an hour.
Take out and deep fry.
For assembling the sizzler
Sizzler plate
Butter & ice cold water
Few cabbage leaves
Heat the sizzler plate for good 15 to 20 minutes. Keep this hot plate on wooden plate with the help of tongs. Spread cabbage leaves all over at the bottom.
Arrange prepared rice, noodles, stir fried vegetables over cabbage leaves. Pour tex mex sauce over it. Add french fries on one side.
Now place chunks of butter in four corners of the sizzler plate. It will make the sizzling sound as the iron plate is sizzling hot.
Then pour the oil and ice water mixture on all the sides of the heated plate. This will give sizzling and smokey effect to the dish.
Your Tex-Mex Sizzler is ready to serve.

Wow a whole platter of yummy goodies all in one. Can imagine the fusion flavors of Tex Mex and using noodles. That’s a lot of different cuisines all in one. The last time I had a sizzler was in India.
