My 200th post on the blog today
Wow what a beautiful number it is. Definitely I have come a long way into this lovely journey of my food blogging. It’s been 4 years and I never get tired of developing new recipes, making them in my kitchen or clicking hundreds of pictures, it’s so therapeutic.
Food makes me happy and feeding delicious dishes to my loved ones gives me immense satisfaction.
The most beautiful part of food blogging is immense and unconstitutional love showered by you all viewers and readers upon me. I can’t thank you enough for that, feel so blessed 😇
How to use readymade canapes?
Now coming back to the recipe I have used readymade box of Monita canapes (picture shared below).
You can use these canapes as is out of the box, but I prefer to crisp them up a little in the oven. Just put the canapes in the oven on Toast mode for about 5 minutes.
Or sometimes I like to deep fry it. Make sure you fry them on low heat as it may get burnt easily. Once fried drain it on paper towel and let it cool a bit.
Serving suggestions
These canapes are very versatile and can be filled with anything you like. Make Kala chana salad and serve it in these Canapés. My aunt used to serve these with chopped boiled eggs with chat masala sprinkled over it.
Or stuff these with boiled potatoes and crisp namkeen boondi along with sweetened curd, Dhania pudina chutney and imli ki chutney for a delicious chaat.
Many times I fill them up with Kabuli chana chaat stuffing from this Papad katori chaat.
You can run your imagination wild and stuff it with numerous variations. Make it a point to serve immediately after filling the canapes as otherwise it may turn soggy.
Once all the ingredients are ready, this is so easy to serve and tastes like heaven!

Make white sauce
Heat butter in a large pan on a low flame. Once it starts melting add oats powder and stir it continuously for around 2 minutes.
Cook it until it’s fragrant, but doesn’t changes its color and immediately add milk. Keep stirring continuously with whisk to avoid lump formation.
Now add salt to taste, black pepper powder, chilli flakes, mixed herbs and grated processed cheese. Stir the mixture and let cheese melt completely in the white sauce.
To this sauce, add the previously sautéed vegetables, basil leaves and mix it well. Cook it for 2-3 minutes.
Add cream cheese. In the last add tomato ketchup. The cheesy white sauce is ready!
Please note that you want a thick, creamy mixture rather than a runny sauce, so that it is convenient to bite into and also a runny sauce would make the canapes soggy.
