Chicken Tikka masala recipe and Butter chicken, same or different?

If you go by looks of it, both the chicken preparations will often look very same. The difference is complex flavors from spices in chicken Tikka masala, wherein butter chicken has sweeter and mild flavour gravy.

The main ingredients in the butter chicken are tomatoes, spices and of course butter. The sauce is milder, sweeter and smokier.

Whereas chicken tikka masala is spicier, robust and may or may not be smokier.
Whatever it is but both taste good.
