Easy Winter Salad Recipe

This simple to make vegan and gluten free easy winter salad recipe combines regular salad vegetables mix, wonderful spice mix and a delicious dressing all tossed together.

Ingredients

Salad veges

  • 1 Carrot
  • 1/2 Radish/Mooli
  • 1 Boiled Beetroot
  • 1 Cucumber
  • 1/4 cup Spring onions green
  • 1 Green chilli
  • 1 tbsp fresh coriander leaves

To make Aachar/pickle masala

  • 1 tbsp mustard seeds Sarson
  • 1 tbsp Carrom ajwain seeds,
  • 2 tbsp saunf Fennel seeds

For Salad Dressing

  • 1 tbsp lemon juice
  • 1/2 tbsp olive oil
  • 1 tsp mustard sauce
  • 1 tsp Maple syrup
  • 1/2 tbsp salt

Instructions

Make Aachar/Pickle masala powder

  • To begin with let's first make pickle masala. For that heat a thick bottom pan. To this first add Mustard seeds. Roast them on slow flame for a few minutes and take out in a plate.
  • After that in the same pan add fennel seeds. Roast on slow flame and take out. Next, roast carrom seeds and take out.
  • Once cooled down, mix together, coarse grind it in mortar pestle. Keep it aside foe later use.

For Salad Dressing

  • In a glass bottle mix olive oil, mustard sauce, maple syrup, salt and olive oil. Give it a good shake.

Chop salad vegetables

  • It's time to cut salad vegetable. Chop carrot, cucumber, radish, beetroot, green chili and spring onion greens in long batons.
  • Now sprinkle 1 tbsp pickle masala over the prepared Salad and pour the salad dressing as required.
  • Serve immediately. Enjoy......

Notes

1. You may use any salad vegetable of your choice.
2. We all love having this salad as a side for lunch sometime topped with some protein.
3. If you wish you can add green salad leaves to this.Ā 

 

 

 

Step by step instructions and pictorial presentation to make Easy Winter Salad Recipe

 

Make pickle masalaĀ 

To begin with let’s first make pickle masala. For that heat a thick bottom pan. To this first add Mustard seeds. Roast them on slow flame for a few minutes and take out in a plate.

After that in the same pan add fennel seeds. Roast on slow flame and take out. Next, roast carrom seeds and take out.

 

Fresh pounded achaar/pickle masala

Once cooled down, mix together, coarse grind it in mortar pestle. Keep it aside for later use.

Make salad dressingĀ 

In a glass bottle mix olive oil, mustard sauce, maple syrup, salt and olive oil. Give it a good shake.

Chop salad vegetables

It’s time to cut salad vegetable. Chop carrot, cucumber, radish, beetroot, green chili and spring onion greens in long batons.

 

Chopped salad veges, pickle masala and salad dressing

 

 

Now sprinkle 1 tbsp pickle masala over the prepared Salad and pour the salad dressing as required.

Serve immediately. Enjoy……
