Garlic Herb Mashed Potatoes

Made with simple ingredients this garlic and herb Mashed Potatoes Recipe turns out so creamy & fluffy. It's one of the best comfort foods I enjoy whipping up for the family as it turns out wonderful.

Ingredients

To boil potatoes

  • 4 large Potatoes
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 tbsp Salt

Other ingredients

  • 4 cloves garlic minced
  • 2 tbsp Butter
  • 1/2 cup Warm milk
  • Salt – to taste
  • 1/2 tsp Black pepper powder
  • 1 tsp Mixed herbs
  • 1 tbsp Fresh coriander leaves
  • 2 Processed cheese slices optional

Instructions

To boil potatoes

  • First, take a pressure cooker filled with water and salt. Scrub clean the potatoes and add in pressure cooker. Cook until soft.
  • If using pot then peel and chop in medium size pieces. Put for boiling in salted water. Once done,  drain well, peel and mash/grate potatoes while hot.
  • After that, in a pan add butter. Once melted,  add minced garlic. Saute it until it turns pink.
  • Next aadd grated boiled Potatoes. To this,  add milk, mixing them until everything is incorporated well. This step will help to  make it creamy and fluffy.
  • Finish with salt and black pepper. In the last add mixed herbs. Then add cheese slices(optional). Cover, cook for a while.
  • Garnish with chopped coriander/parsley and blob of butter before serving.

Notes

1. This recipe can be easily converted into Vegan mashed potatoes by replacing butter with either olive oil or vegan butter.
2. You may add any dairy or non dairy milk in this recipe. Vegans can use Homemade almond milk , Oats milk or any other nut milk.
3. My children love cheesy flavor so sometimes we do add cheese slices or grated cheese. This is purely optional.
