Easy Homemade Protein Powder (Vegan) |

Ingredients

  • 1 cup Bhuna chana Roasted gram
  • 2 cups Makhana/Fox nuts
  • 1/2 cup raw unsalted raw peanuts
  • 1/2 cup Chia seeds
  • 1 cup Oats
  • 1 cup almonds badam

Instructions

  • To begin with, we need to dry roast all the ingredients except roasted gram which is already roasted.
  • Heat a heavy bottomed pan and dry roast the fox nuts on medium flame, while stirring constantly, until they turn crunchy.
  • Check the doneness of makhana by pressing it between your thumb and index finger. Remove and set aside in a plate to cool.
  • After that, dry roast the peanuts for 2 to 3 minutes on slow flame, while stirring occasionally. Remove and keep aside to cool completely in the same plate.
  • Next add oats for a few mins on a low flame. Remove and set aside in the same plate.
  • Now dry roast the almonds for a few minutes on low flame, while stirring occasionally.
  • Remove and keep aside with the other ingredients.
  • Then goes the Chia seeds. Dry roast it on low heat for a few minutes. Remove and keep aside with the other ingredients.
  • Once done, let the mixture cool and add in the roasted chana.
  • Mix well everything with your hands and transfer the half of the it into a blender jar and pulse and blend to a fine powder.
  • Repeat the process and grind the remaining mixture. Store in an airtight glass container and use as required.

Notes

1. The other nuts and seeds you may add are cashew nuts, walnuts, sunflower seeds or melon seeds.
2. If you like the flavour of cardamom and saffron then go for it. Blend these both along with other ingredients.
3. Make sure to cool all the ingredients completely before blending to avoid turning it into a paste rather than powder.
4. The veg protein powder tends to settle down at the bottom of the glass once blended with any liquid. So keep stirring it while drinking.
5. Always store the protein powder in refrigerator.
