A delicious side dish to Indian meals, Papad Ki Churi | How to make Papad Churi is crispy and gets ready in jiffy. This dish goes well with almost everything.
As the name suggests it is a preparation of crushed roasted papads which are tossed in some basic spices and ghee.
In addition to that mix some chopped crunchy onions, a dash of lemon with garnish of fresh coriander leaves, it makes for a wonderful snack or side dish.
Papad Ki Churi | How to make Papad Churi, a traditional Sindhi recipe
Being Sindhi papad is an integral part of our diet. Papad katori chaat, Papad paratha and Moong sprouts papad pocket rolls are few of my experimental recipes that I have shared on the blog.
My Mother used to call this recipe a saviour, because as kids, we siblings were picky eaters. So whenever Mom used to make Kaju karela or Dal palak, this papad churi was must to have in meals.
Truly this recipe is a nostalgia.
Let’s talk about Ingredients to make papad churi
Papad : Any papad can be used. Moong dal, urad dal, masala papad or any other variety
Onion : Finely chopped onions
Spices : Red chili powder, Chaat masala and some salt
Ghee : Melted pure ghee/clarified butter
Coriander leaves : Fresh coriander leaves
How to make?
Roast the papad on stove or micro high it on 20 second burst, till roasted well on both sides.
Transfer in a big bowl. Crush it using fingers into small pieces. Add finely chopped onions.
Before serving, mix melted ghee, chaat masala, red chilli powder and some salt in the proportion of onions.
Mix well. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.
Serve immediately.

- 6 Papad Roasted
- 2 tbsp melted pure ghee/clarified butter
- 1 tsp Red chilli powder
- 1 tsp Chaat masala
- Salt to taste
- 1 Finely chopped onion
- Handful Coriander leaves to garnish
