Guava raw mango Salad (Thai style), a perfect side dish
Salads are my all time favorite to serve along with main meals. You may serve this with Brown lentils, Steamed rice and Beetroot pomegranate raita.
Coming back to make this salad we will need guavas that are ripe but still crunchy. You can peel the skin off the guavas if you prefer, i haven’t.

Guava raw mango Salad (Thai style)
Ingredients
- 2 medium semi-ripe guavas - julienned
- 1/4 cup carrot - julienned
- 1/4 cup raw mango - julienned
- 2 tbsp roasted peanuts - coarsely pound
- 1 tbsp sesame seeds - roasted
- 1 tsp red chilli flakes
- 1 tbsp spring onion greens - chopped
- Fresh coriander for garnish
Dressing for salad
- 1½ tbsp lime juice
- 1 tbsp soy sauce or tamari
- 1 tsp Maple syrup
- 1½ tsp salt
- 1½ tsp chilli flakes
Instructions
- To begin with add julienned guava, raw mango and carrots in a big bowl. To this add salt and chilli flakes. Keep aside.
- Now to make the dressing for the salad, combine all dressing ingredients listed above in a small bowl.
- When you are ready to serve the salad, just add dressing on the top of guava mixture. Combine well by tossing it.
- In the last add peanuts, sesame seeds, and spring onions. Garnish with fresh coriander leaves.

Top tips
1. You may add cucumber and sweet corn to this salad.
2. You may replace raw mango with pineapple as sometimes its difficult to get raw mango when not in season.
3. Feel free to add pomegranate arils.
