It can sometimes be challenging to make your children eat fruits. And more tougher to find new ideas how to lure them into eating it. Don’t worry if you are sailing in the same boat as I am.
Fruity and Nutty Sticks is a simple idea to use fresh fruits on sticks and dip it in chocolate & nuts, to trick your kids to ask for more.
Just place fresh fruits of your choice like Strawberries, Pineapple, Kiwis or Bananas on a stick.
Then coat fruits with chocolate and garnish with nuts! Voila!! You have hit a bulls eye. This style of snack treat can not go wrong.
Prep Time 5 Minutes
Chilling Time 10 minutes
Serves 4
Ingridients :
2 Bananas small chopped into thick rounds
Cored Pineapple pieces(small) 6
3 Strawberries cut into half
1 kiwi cut into 4 pieces
Half of green apple chopped into pieces
1 cup melted Chocolate
1/4 cup Chopped Peanuts
6 icecream Sticks
Method:
Cut strawberries in two halves.
Cut banana into equal sized pieces and pineapple too in same size pieces.
Cut kiwi into half first and then cut that half into equal size pieces.
Chop the green apple in to half. Then chop that half further into 2 same size pieces. Now assemble the fruits on ice cream sticks.
Place pineapple on first, then banana, kiwi or green apple and strawberry in the last on top.
Place in freezer for 10 minutes.
Melt chocolate in microwave for 30 seconds first. Take it out stir. Repeat this process until Chocolate melts and become smooth without any lumps. Or you can use double boiler method to melt the chocolate.
Line a tray with parchment paper to place fruits dipped in chocolate like this as shown in the picture below.
Put slivered nuts in a wide plate to be used for coating the fruit sticks dipped in chocolate.
Dip your fruit stick in chocolate, followed by into nuts, then place on plate with parchment paper.
Keep this tray back in fridge for few minutes to chill.
Enjoy the healthy fruity snack.
