Ingredients

  • 250 grams Jamun/Indian Java Plum
  • 8 tablespoon Sugar
  • 4 Mint leaves
  • 2 cups Water
  • 1 teaspoon Pink Salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon Roasted cumin powder bhuna jeera powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon Lemon juice

Instructions

  • To begin with, wash the jamun thoroughly under the running water.
  • Wipe them clean with cloth.
  • In a pan bring water to boil. To this add jamun. Once it comes to rolling boil add sugar and lower the flame.
  • Let this simmer until the flesh of jamun starts falling apart in water. It will take around 10 minutes on low heat.
  • Switch off the flame and let it cool. Remove the seeds using your hands.
  • After this blend this jamun-sugar mixture along with mint leaves, roasted cumin powder.
  • Strain this mixture. Season with pink salt and taste the test.
  • Adjust the sweetness and salt accordingly.
  • Your jamun panna concentrate is ready. Store this in glass bottle for further use.

To make panna

  • To make jamun panna, add 3 tbsp of concentrate in a glass. Add lemon juice as required.
  • Top it with some chilled water. Garnish with some mint leaves.
