Ingredients

  • 3 Beetroot medium sized
  • 1 tsp Pink salt

Instructions

  • First, chop off the leaves, if any from the beetroot and peel the beets.
  • Use a mandolin slicer and slice the peeled beetroot thin to make chips. Sprinkle pink salt and rub all over.
  • Meanwhile, preheat your Air fryer for 3-4 minutes @180°C. After that, place the chips in the air fryer basket.
  • Let it overlap a bit, as they'll shrink in size while cooking.
  • Air fry the beet chips on 160°C for 7-8 minutes on each side. Flip each chips halfway through cooking.
  • Meanwhile, keep moving the beets every few minutes to ensure they aren’t overlapping anymore.
  • Flip them upside down and cook  till they become little crisp.
  • Once your beets turn slightly crispy, remove them from the basket and place them on a plate.
  • Keep aside for a few minutes to crisp up some more.
  • Repeat the process for another batch of chips.
  • Serve with some pepper powder or chaat masala (optional) sprinkled over and Dip of your choice.

Notes

1. Beets will stain everything. To prevent that use gloves for cutting and chopping beets. Plus put a layer of plastic wrap over the counter top or use a big steel plate.
2. The cook time on these beet chips may vary depending on your air fryer brand.
3. Be careful not to over cook your beets. As soon as they are slightly crisp, remove them from the air fryer. They will crisp further once out of the air fryer.
4. Cook at lower temperature so that they do not burn on the edges.
Taste best when made fresh!
5. Chips will get soggy if they are not eaten right away or stored properly.
6. To re crisp them, air fry for about 3 minutes. When they come out of the air fryer, they will still feel soggy, but after a few seconds, will be back to crispy
