Fish Fry Recipe (Pan fried crispy Fish)

Made in a pan, this Fish Fry Recipe (Pan fried crispy Fish) is delicious, gets ready in minutes and turns out crisp without using bread crumbs, rice flour or semolina.

Ingredients

  • 6 Surmai fish pieces
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 3/4 tsp Turmeric powder
  • 1 +1/2 tsp Red Chilli powder
  • 2 tsp oil

To serve

  • Onion rings to serve with
  • Fresh coriander leaves
  • Lemon slices

Instructions

  • Clean, wash surmai/king fish under running water which are cut into thick pieces.
  • In a bowl mix salt, turmeric powder, red chili powder and coriander powder.
  • Rub this mixture on cleaned fish pieces. Leave is aside for 15 minutes or fry immediately.
  • Heat oil in deep non stick pan and shallow fry previously masala coated fish pieces on medium flame first.
  • After a while lower down the flame and let it crisp on down side.
  • Once done on down side flip it and cook it on the other side as well on low flame until it turns crisp.
  • Once done remove these shallow fried fish pieces and keep aside. Please note, Fish doesn't take much time to cook.
  • Serve with onion rings, sprinkle some lemon juice and garnish with coriander leaves.

Notes

1. You can use any fish of your choice, but make sure to cut into thick pieces.
2. This fish can be made immediately without resting time also.
3. Fish doesn't take much time to cook, so keep an eye not to overcook.
4. If you wish to have an extra crisp layer for fish then you may apply Roasted semolina/sooji along with ingredients mentioned in the list.
