These Ragi jaggery Ladoos are one nutritious snack made from Ragi which is considered as a wonder grain. It is really high in calcium. Made with just 3 main ingredients, it is refined sugar free too.

Many times I make Ragi Almond cooler as it’s a very nutritious drink for harsh summers.

A must try recipe

Ragi is one of the most nutritious and healthy grains. Ragi Ladoos/laddus are prepared using few handy ingredients, and these are very to make.

This time I made ladoos refined sugar free by adding jaggery, as ready to go snack with glass of milk. My kids loved it. I specially made these Ladoos and gifted it to my best friend also. She was all praises for it.

This recipe is a must try.

So here we go……

Ragi Jaggery Ladoos are really high in calcium, iron and fiber. It's refined sugar free and made with just 3 main ingredients. Make these yummy ladoos as on the go snack with a glass of milk. A must try recipe.

Ingredients
  • Organic Ragi Atta/ragi flour 1 cup
  • Roasted chana Dal ¼ Cup
  • Dry Dessicated coconut ¼ cup
  • Jaggery grated 1+1/2 Cups more or less to your taste
  • Ghee/clarified butter ¼ Cup
  • Handful of chopped dry nuts to garnish
Instructions
  1. Dry roast Ragi Atta/flour in a non stick pan. I have used store bought organic Ragi atta.
  2. Roast it for 8-10 minute on slow flame to remove the raw smell.
  3. Do not increase the heat, or the flour may get burnt. When nice aroma comes out just switch off the flame and keep it aside to cool.
  4. Grind the roasted gram dal(chana dal) first to a fine powder. Mix dessicated coconut with it.
  5. Keep this powder in a separate mixing bowl.
  6. Combine ragi flour and grated jaggery and blend it in mixer grinder, so that the ragi flour and jaggery are nicely mixed and incorporated together
  7. Add this ragi-jaggery powder to the mixing bowl.
  8. Combine chana dal, coconut and ragi-jaggery mixture. Warm and melt clarified butter/ghee and pour it in the ragi mixture.
  9. Combine the ragi-mixture well. Then start making small ball bite sized ladoos out of the ragi-ghee mixture.
  10. Tasty and Healthy Ragi Ladoos are ready to be devoured.
  11. Garnish with chopped dryfruits.

 

 

Method to make Ragi and Jaggery Ladoos :
