Ingredients
Sattu ka Atta - ¾ cup
Cold water - 2 glasses
Salt - 1 tsp
Black Salt (Kala Namak) - 1 tsp
Chopped mint leaves - 1 tsp
Minced green chillies - ½ tbsp
Juice of ½ a lemon -
Roasted Cumin Powder/Jeera powder - 1 tsp
Imli gud khajoor ki chutney - 2 tbsp optional
Chopped mint and coriander leaves
For the tempering:
Oil - 1 tsp
Mustard/rai seeds - ¼ tsp
Heeng/asafoetida - ¼ tsp
Red chiili powder - ½ tsp
Jeera powder - ½ tsp
Ice cubes as needed
Instructions
Take sattu ka atta in a bowl and add water. Mix with a whisk till it is fully dissolved and no lumps remain.
Add lemon juice, salt, black salt, mint, chillies and cumin powder and mix well. Leave for 5-10 minutes to soak in all the flavours.
Take 2 glasses and add ice cubes as required. Pour the drink on top through a strainer. In addition to that, mix imli gud khajoor chutney for sweet and sour taste (optional). After that, garnish with some mint leaves on the top.
To prepare the temper. Heat few drops of ghee in a small pan, add the mustard seeds. Let it crackle. Turn off the gas and let it cool down a bit.
Add asafoetida/hing, red chilli powder and cumin/ zeera powder and pour this to your ready sattu drink.
Serve it chilled.
