It turns out so delicious that everyone would love to gobble up the whole bowl.

When I made it last week, this potato bake vanished very fast and everyone was back asking for second helping.

Step by step instructions and pictorial presentation to make potato bake | Creamy Cheesy Potato bake :

Wash and peel potatoes. Chop into fine cubes. Set aside.

Heat oil in a pan, add butter. Put chopped garlic & onion. Saute for 1 minute. Mix in finely cut potatoes. Add salt and black pepper. Cook for few minutes.

Next add oregano and chilli flakes or mixed herbs. Take out in a bowl and keep aside.

Make the white sauce:

Melt the butter, add maida/ flour. Let it roast for 1 minute. Roast it on low flame so that the colour of flour remains unchanged.

Next add milk, salt and pepper and stir until it thickens. Thereafter add mustard powder and onion and/or garlic powder. Then turn off the flame. Cool it.

In the last add mayonnaise.

To Assemble :

In an oven proof ramekin first layer white sauce. Place potato mix with spoon over it.

Again layer it with white sauce and potato mix. Cover this with white sauce. Place grated mix of all cheese over it.

 

 

Bake this in a preheated oven at 180 degree for 10 to 12 minutes or till the upper cheese crust turns golden brown.

Serve hot.

Ingredients
  • Potatoes 2
  • 1 tbsp oil + 1tsp herb garlic butter
  • Garlic cloves 4, finely chopped.
  • onion, chopped finely, 2 spoons.
  • Oregano & chilli flakes 2 tsp each or mix herbs
  • Salt to taste
  • For white sauce :
  • Herb Garlic Butter 2 tbsp
  • Maida/ All purpose flour 3 tsp
  • 1+1/2 cups milk or more
  • Oregano and Chilli flakes 2 tsp each
  • 1 tsp mayonnaise
  • ¼ tsp each mustard powder and onion and/or garlic powder
  • Salt and black pepper powder to taste
  • Processed, Mozzrella & Parmesan cheese for topping 4 tbsp
